Hailed by Gramophone magazine as a “star of the future” following release of his debut CD in 2008, Igor Lovchinsky has become one of the most popular artists to have played in our Piano Series. He somehow finds time to pursue graduate study in physics at Harvard, even as he continues to astound audiences with interpretations of works by his favorite composers. Typically, Lovchinsky speaks to the audience at his recitals, engaging both the seasoned and lay listeners. The Southampton Press described his commentaries as “witty, informative, and non-technical, adding immeasurably to the non-professional’s understanding.”
La Rencontre @ Franco Center Heritage Hall11:30 am – 1:30 pm
We present La Rencontre as a way to reconnect with our extended Franco-American family in the area. We offer a fully catered luncheon, followed by a performance, both of which change every month. Our fun begins at 11:30am and continues until 1:30pm. Part of our enjoyment of this gathering is that we strongly encourage our guests to speak in French. If English is spoken, you may be asked to make a small donation; all in good fun, of course. This is our family table, and we invite you to join us to share your own stories.
Tickets for this event are $7 at the door. We request that you make reservations in advance by calling Kirsten Nunery at the Franco Center Office at 783-1585.
MENU: Baked beans with hot dogs, rolls, coleslaw, cookie for dessert.
ENTERTAINMENT: Guitarist Denny Breau, a Franco Center favorite!
